Creative Writing: For our in-class freewrite, we chose between writing about a) a character who doesn't realize their new roommate is evil and very controlling, and b) a character who is so fed up with their job they are about to do something desperate. Determine one secret that the character in your freewrite has and one thing that they want. (You can reinvent or alter your character if you don't like what they came up with in class.) Then, make two lists. One list should be five ways you can show that secret (in subtle or obvious ways), and the other should be five ways you can show what the character wants WITHOUT telling your reader directly.
