AmLit: I am so sorry to miss you again today; this week has been crazy, so I ask your help in using today as effectively as possible so it doesn't seem like so much not-normal class time! During class today, please use the chart below to guide your work. If you use class time effectively, you should move AT LEAST from the left side of the chart to the right, but going further ahead is fantastic, too!
If you have already done this............................you must finish this:
Level 1: An incomplete outline..................................A finished outline and introduction
Level 2: A finished outline and introduction...............Three body paragraphs
Level 3: Three body paragraphs................................Peer edit, adult edit, and a draft of your conclusion
Please remember to check the "All Classes" tab for helpful writing guides for introductions, body paragraphs, and conclusions. Peer editing is simple: just have someone look at your essay and give you some feedback. We have had over 200 minutes of in-class time to work on these essays, which is a TON, so today is your last full block. Your homework is to finish a rough draft of your essay - an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
Final drafts of these essays will be due next Thursday. If you do not have a finished full draft of your essay at the beginning of class on Tuesday, you will be assigned a mandatory after-school work block.
