CP10: Finish Animal Farm and come with at least three practice thesis statements on topics from the book; you may rewrite the same thesis statement in three different forms, or experiment with different topics. In any case, you should be thinking ahead about a topic you might be interested in writing about - perhaps the topic for which you already started an outline?
H10: Final ("gradable") drafts of your Maus essays should be ready to share or hand in at the beginning of class on Monday. Remember to check your work against the SPHS Writing Rubric, and don't be afraid to get additional peer, parent, or friend feedback! If you have not yet finished Maus II, please do so over the weekend so that you can return books at the beginning of next week.
ALL 10th GRADERS: Be prepared to take the Grade 10 Common Assessment in Writing (a timed prompt) in class on Monday. You don't need to do anything more than come with your brains and either a writing utensil or a well-charged laptop, but be forewarned that this will take up much of our Monday class. I promise the rest of the block will be fun!
